Profile

Professor Sirish Tamvada earned his law degree from Institute of Law and Management Studies, Maharshi Dayanand University, Gurgaon, India. After enrolling at the Bar Council of Delhi as a lawyer, Prof. Tamvada went to pursue his Masters in Global Studies at the University of Leipzig, Germany and University of Vienna, Austria, as a recipient of the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Scholarship. His Master thesis on the role of the Security Council was published in Germany. After successfully completing the Master’s program in Europe, Prof. Tamvada was awarded the International Legal Studies Program (ILSP) Alumni Fund Scholarship to pursue his Master in Laws (LL.M.) at the American University, Washington College of Law, Washington D.C., USA wherein he specialized in International Business Law.

Prof. Tamvada returned to India in 2011 and started his law practice at the Supreme Court of India and the High Court of Delhi. During his practice he focused on Arbitration Law. A keen academic interest led him to join the Jindal Global Law School in 2012. Prof. Tamvada teaches Indian Contract Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Legal Negotiations at the University. The Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution was the brainchild of Prof. Tamvada with the active support of the Vice Chancellor Dr. C.Raj Kumar. Prof. Tamvada engages in ADR research and has organized guest lectures, conferences, conducted Negotiation Workshops and has trained students participating in Arbitration Moots; Negotiation and Mediation competitions. His primary research interests are in Alternative Forms of Dispute Resolution, Arbitration Law and Investment Arbitration.
